In 2020, Manavta constructed a new sanitation facility at Namuna School in Jumla District, giving over 200 students access to clean toilets for the first time.

But infrastructure alone isn’t enough. Over time, our team noticed persistent challenges, such as children cleaning themselves with rocks and irregular handwashing habits, practices that are learned because of scarce water resources at home.

That’s why our focus is always on education, helping every student, especially girls, stay healthy, attend school confidently, and continue learning without interruption.

What We’re Doing Now

In partnership with the Karnali Academy of Health Sciences, Manavta is launching a 2-day educational workshop (Nov 12–13, 2025) at Namuna School.

Our focus:

  1. Handwashing Education – Why it matters, when to do it, and how to do it effectively.

  2. Toilet & Sanitation Awareness – Safe and respectful toilet use, waste management, and school cleanliness.

  3. Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) – Open, stigma-free learning for both girls and boys, building empathy and support.

Building lasting hygiene habits for a cleaner, healthier school.

Breaking stigma so girls can learn with confidence and respect.

Teaching students hygiene and proper habits that will keep them healthy and in school.
